Copyright Policy and DMCA Notice

Effective October 20, 2026. How we use third-party material, and how rights holders can send credit corrections, takedown notices and counter-notices.

Effective date: October 20, 2026 Last updated: October 20, 2026

Cupcakes Holdings LTD ("we", "us" or "our"), the publisher of YourMoneyMagic at yourmoneymagic.com (the "Site"), respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the same of everyone who uses the Site. This policy explains how we use third-party material, how rights holders can report suspected infringement, and how the person who posted material can respond. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

All notices under this policy must be sent by email to contact@yourmoneymagic.com. We do not accept notices by any other channel.

1. How we use images and third-party material

YourMoneyMagic relies heavily on historical photographs, artworks, maps, documents and illustrations. We aim to use only material that is:

  1. in the public domain, for example because its copyright term has expired, it was published without required formalities, or it was created by a government whose works are not protected by copyright;
  2. openly licensed, for example under Creative Commons Zero (CC0), Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) or Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA), with attribution and licence information provided as the licence requires;
  3. licensed to us by the rights holder or through a licensed archive or stock provider; or
  4. used as permitted by law, including fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107, fair dealing under the laws of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries, permitted uses under Section 19 of the Israeli Copyright Law, 5768-2007, and equivalent exceptions for quotation, criticism, review, commentary, education and news reporting.

We source most images from established repositories such as Wikimedia Commons and Openverse, and we record the credit and source for each. Repository information is sometimes incomplete or incorrect. If we have got something wrong, we want to fix it quickly.

2. Credit corrections

If you are the creator or rights holder of an image or text that appears on the Site and you are happy for it to remain but would like the credit or licence information corrected, email contact@yourmoneymagic.com with the subject line "Credit correction", the page URL and the correct credit. We will update it promptly.

3. Notice of claimed infringement (takedown notice)

If you believe that material on the Site infringes a copyright that you own or are authorised to enforce, please send a written notice to our designated agent by email to contact@yourmoneymagic.com with the subject line "Copyright notice". To be effective under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), your notice must include:

  1. a physical or electronic signature of a person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of such works;
  3. identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it, ideally the full URL of each page and a description of the specific image or passage;
  4. information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
  6. a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Notices from rights holders outside the United States are welcome and will be handled under the same procedure, together with any rights and obligations under the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), the Israeli Copyright Law and other applicable law. Under the Digital Services Act, notices should also include a clear explanation of why you consider the material to be unlawful.

Please be aware that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Before sending a notice, please consider whether the use may be permitted, for example because the work is in the public domain, openly licensed, or used as fair use. If you are unsure, consider seeking legal advice.

4. What happens after we receive a notice

When we receive a valid notice, we will:

  1. acknowledge receipt by email;
  2. review the notice and the material concerned;
  3. where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material expeditiously;
  4. where applicable, take reasonable steps to notify the person who supplied the material, and provide them with a copy of the notice (we may remove your personal contact details where appropriate); and
  5. inform you of our decision and, where the Digital Services Act applies, of available redress.

We may also forward notices to the Lumen database (lumendatabase.org) or a similar transparency project, with personal contact information redacted.

5. Counter-notice

If material you supplied was removed or disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice by email to contact@yourmoneymagic.com with the subject line "Counter-notice". Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), a counter-notice must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which it appeared before removal;
  3. a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or that person's agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the original complainant and, unless they notify us within 10 business days that they have filed an action seeking a court order, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days.

6. Repeat infringers

We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, the access of contributors and users who are repeat infringers.

7. Use of our content by others

Our original text and design are protected by copyright. You may share links and short attributed excerpts as described in our Terms of Use. Republication, syndication, scraping and use of our content to train artificial intelligence systems are not permitted without written permission. If you believe our content has been copied without permission, or you wish to request a licence, email contact@yourmoneymagic.com with the subject line "Licensing".

8. Trademarks

If you believe content on the Site infringes your trademark, please email contact@yourmoneymagic.com with the subject line "Trademark", identifying the mark, the registration details, the material concerned and the basis for your complaint.

9. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
